Hapo Back Step-by-Step Guide:
Donning
Open all straps. That includes:
Chest Strap
Waist Strap
Thigh Cuffs
Make sure the springs are deactivated. Keep the spring straight and pull the locking mechanism upwards to do that. You should be able to bend them in the middle comfortably.
Put on the Hapo Back similar to a backpack.
Fasten the chest strap.
The design gives you the option to move the straps higher or lower via the slits on the plastic core of the shoulder straps.
Fasten the waist belt.
Fasten the plastic clips.
The waist belt needs to comfortably sit on the lower back area.
Tighten the straps if needed.
Stow the excess strap inside the loops incorporated on the waist strap.
Fasten the thigh cuffs.
Loosen the straps (blue stitching) that sit above each glute
Position the cuffs on the thighs.
Fasten the plastic buckles.
Tighten the cuffs via the incorporated elastic velcro if needed.
Tighten the anti-torsion (blue stitching) straps on the buttocks.
Activate the assistance.
Grab the locking mechanism between thumb and forefinger.
Push the springs forward so they are straight and aligned properly.
Push the locking mechanism downward until you hear it click.
Use the smaller bands (red stitching) on the waist strap to align the springs with the hip.
As you pull on the band, you should feel the device tightening.
More Adjustments
8. You can adjust the height of the back strap if needed. To do that:
9. Open the pocket on the back of the waist belt.
10. Undo the velcro closure on the strap and remove it from the plastic back plate.
11. Adjust the strap if needed by reinserting it into one of the three slits on the plastic back plate.
Doffing
Deactivate the assistance by pushing the springs forward and pulling the locking mechanism upward.
Unbuckle the two thigh cuffs.
Unbuckle the waist belt.
Unbuckle the chest strap.
You can now comfortably take off the Hapo Back.
Storing
You can store the device by hanging it. To do that:
Fasten all the buckles.
Lock the springs if needed.
